Safety Management Systems

A safety management system needs to be woven into the fabric of an organization. It becomes part of the culture, the way people do their job. That is why ideally all employees have at least a basic understanding of what SMS is about.

To champion the maturing of a positive safety culture, staff, officers and management need a good understanding of SMS and how to mature it.

COURSE CONTENT

This 3-day course provides an introduction to SMS, based on ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices. On completing the course, you will have the skills required to develop, implement, manage and assess a basic SMS. It has been developed to enhance material contained in the ICAO Safety Management Manual with best practices from among others oil company Shell & the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
