Team Leadership in Aviation

World-class aviation safety is achieved not only with technological tools and techniques, or with just personnel and manpower, it is guided and supervised by managers and leaders. A leader is a person whose ideas and actions influence the thoughts and the behaviors of others. Through the use of example and persuasion, and an understanding of the goals and desires of the group, the leader becomes a means of change and influence. Leadership lead the direction of an organisation rather than simply managing existing operations. However, there has been little formalization to nurture up-to-date leadership at the middle and top management levels in the aviation industry to transfer those skills from existing leaders to emerging leaders.

Very few professional development programs are available to equip (future) leaders and safety champions with the communication, administrative and organisational skills to improve the effective implementation of ICAO SARPs. This course changes that for Africa.
